An Caílin Rua

I'm currently playing the LARP Vampire the Masquerade at Club Orpheus in Baltimore. Sadly, as I'm back in PA for the time being, I have not been able to attend. So instead I drew a picture of my character, An Caílin Rua (The Red Haired Girl).

I plan on drawing more pictures of her and other characters I play with in different styles since there's not much else I can do in game.

Transposition Book

I made a hard bound book of the Transposition project. To see the full images laid out click here: http://gingerrampage.blogspot.com/2012/09/transposition-open-heart-project.html

My living situation's been a bit all over the place since graduation but I shall have more projects up soon!

Monty Python Coconut Book and Sami Ruin Cards Book

Want to see some books? No? Well, too bad. I'm in a book making class right now and thoroughly enjoying it despite it's very trial and error process. Heres two of the books I've made so far!

The first one is lovingly titled "Two Empty Halves of Coconuts" as it is an accordion book with coconut halves as the cover and drawings inspired by Monty Python and the Holy Grail on the inside. I was watching the movie the entire time I made it.

The second isn't a book per say. The assignment was called the "House of Cards" and the idea was to have a stack of cards and a holder for them. For mine, I made a series of tea-stained paper cards illustrated with Sami Ruin symbols and housed in a leather pouch with a found sea shell clasp. This was my first time working with leather period so I kept basic and the shell is from a collection of several I've found on the beach over the years. It's a little scary how well it came together, the shell only comes out if you twist it clockwise otherwise it's not budging.

For anyone who's curious about Sami symbols this is by far one of the best websites I've found on the subjects. It's a very interesting culture and I strongly recommend looking into it.

Colored Thesis Work

Three of the digitally colored images from thesis. A few I'm still toying with while progressing on to other finals. It's near the last month of school and I'm surprisingly relaxed despite all I have yet to do and the fact that harsh reality should come crashing down on my head at any moment. I'll try and enjoy this while it lasts.

Official Resume

My (for now at least) official resume. If anyone knows how to link this to a tab on the side of the blog, please let me know. I'm still in many ways inexperienced with blogger and cannot for the life of me figure it out.

2 More Thesis Works

Greetings!

Here's two more graphite pieces from thesis. This project is a series of images that can function both as a children's book and as an illustrated poem based on song lyrics a talented young musician I know has written about the life of a tree. I'm finishing up the next batch and also doing color studies that shall be added shortly.

My resume will also be uploaded shortly. Once I figure out how to upload it on to the pages in blogger. Actually, if anyone could give me some advice on that I would be most obliged.

One Fine Night: Logo

While finishing up thesis and learning the basics of Book Making, I'm also continuously working on old projects from over the years. This was a logo I'd originally designed for One Fine Night, a comic idea I was exploring in Concept Art last semester, and revamped for a Halloween Matchbook design in Book Making.

I'll be updating this shortly with an image of the final piece.
